The Renown RN2 sees a return to classic Gretsch 302 hoops – the same ones found on the Brooklyn kits today. At 3mm thick, the 302s are every bit as thick as the former die-cast hoops. Only they’re less rigid for better flex, which offers more of that classic Gretsch open-y goodness. Modern 302s are rounded over, too, so they’re easier on sticks than legacy 302s. Gretsch has been making drums since 1883. Alongside drums, the company’s banjos, mandolins, ukuleles, and guitars have contributed to the very roots of American music. All Gretsch Drums are shell packs (drum hardware and cymbals are not included).
